PIGLET WITH FLOWERS

Following on from Steiffs Winnie the Pooh in 2004 and Eeyore in 2005 is this version of Piglet.  AA Milne's timid yet friendly character, standing 29cm high tall he is sewn from short pile pink Mohair and wears a striped sleeveless tunic.  In his hands he holds a spray of blue flowers perhaps a present for a friend.

As a tribute to one of the most dazzling bears born in 1906 Steiff is proud to present a fine celebration of his 100th birthday.  A beautiful bear fuelled with life and bursting with colour, he sparkles as a true jewel in the crown.  Born out of inspiration from an original Steiff Teddy bear from 1906, Steiff have captured every once of magic, spirit effervescency and energy that Richard Steiff gifted his bears with 100 years ago.  His golden apricot mohair is quite exceptional and skilfully produced by Schulte and his deep-set boot button eyes bring a wealth of warmth and overflow with expression.   

KOALA TED

The captivating and comical bundles of silver grey and white fur often found clinging tenaciously to eucalyptus branches are the best known and best loved of the Australian marsupials.  Some animals are just more popular than others and the Koala is one of them.  These toy-like tree dwellers were first spotted in 1798 when they were abundant;  however sadly today they are less commonplace.

This innovative and very cute Steiff Koala Ted totally embodies the striking markings and unforgettable presence of his inspiration, yet embodies individuality.  The finest alpaca mohair has been used to capture Koala's cuddly, ash-grey fur and the attention to detail that is synonymous with Steiff.

AUNT

This is Paddington Bear's Aunt Lucy.  Dressed in her unmistakeable traditional outfit. complete with shawl, black hat and glasses, Aunt Lucy keeps a very special custom made Steiff Knopf coin in the pocket of her bloomers!

Steiff's Mr Todd is exquisitely modelled using the finest Alpaca.  Wearing his distinctive green suit and carrying his wooden cane, Mr Tod is a fine addition to this much loved series and fully captures the character of Beatrix Potters original creation.

SAMUEL WHISKERS

Steiff's design team has truly excelled in their work resulting in a faithful interpretation of Samuel which has stepped straight out of Miss Potters book.  He was based on her own pet rat and she described him as 'an affectionate little friend and a most accomplished thief'.

THE BLACK WATCH

This striking Steiff bear is made with the historically poignant black mohair and plays the most famous regimental march 'The Black Bear'.

Teddy

The transformation of colour from black mohair to "old black" is quite exceptional. Expert mohair manufacturers, Schulte, have excelled in producing mohair which captures what only time can achieve. His once deep black coat has faded to a soft and subtle grey tipped which is most gracefully enhanced by his soulful eyes, his hand embroidered nose and the most delicate of pink bows. The 40 cm tall "Old Black Bear" over­flows with warmth, inspiration and nostalgia. He is a true life­long companion.

He is the epitome of a big black bear even though gifted with a unique brown dense coat. This envied coat mixed with rich colours is painted as if by a skilled artist with a cream crescent-shaped marking on the chest. This unmistakable crescent moon shape found on the chest has led to this bear being called "moon bear of Tibet". These strong and fearless animals are a constant fascination to humans but never a threat. Their awesome power, intelligence and ability to avoid people rather than confront has won them great admiration. They have also won the appreciation of one of Steiff's designers who has excelled in his interpretation of this wonder from the animal kingdom. The finest brown alpaca has been used to capture the bear's impenetrable coat with cream alpaca for his distinctive "moon" chest. His expression is true to that of a heroic gentle giant.
