Colin was born
in Bedworth and now lives in Nuneaton. He took up singing at 17
and studied under the late Phyllis Marlow. He was with Guildhall
Amateur Operatic Society in Coventry for 10 years before being
invited to join the Nuneaton Pantomime and Revue Society to play
the part of Jud Fry in Oklahoma. He stayed with them for 6 years
taking leading roles in all their productions.
He sang with
Fillongley Singers for 5 years and joined Bedworth Choral
Society in 1998. He became Chairman in 2000 and has increased
membership three fold since then and has also organised many
concerts with them.
He has produced
three Civic Command Performances at the Civic Hall in aid of
various Mayor’s charities.
He organised the
Voices for Hospices concerts in October 2000, 2003 and 2005 at
the Civic Hall raising in excess of £10,000 for the Hospice.
He has sung at
the Picnic Proms concert at the Hospice in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
In July 2005 he
organised and produced the first ever local Young Voices for
Hospices involving over 300 children from the local area,
raising £2450 for the Hospice. |
